It was just another beautiful sunny day in Cozumel and I was putting it down hard pedaling through a loop around the island when I decided to take a detour and go exploring some Mayan ruins I'd been told about. My tunes were cranked and I don't know what caught my attention but when I looked up I was staring down the barrels of three M16's held by three surprised Mexican soldiers. I raised my hands, backed my bike up and left... Oh well. just another story to tell my students back home. When I'm not teaching you might find me in a museum entranced by a Caravaggio I've never seen, or exploring some ancient ruins, or if I'm totally spent you might find me curled up with the latest mystery by, say Preston/Child, or some other author like them, some 70's rock on the stereo, and a little small batch bourbon nearby. I try to live with gusto, laugh easily, not take myself too seriously, and will probably forget tomorrow what made me angry with you yesterday.
